Liposome AutoMaker
Two hour total liposome preparation time per run, including cleaning and drying.
The Liposome AutoMaker is the only liposomal manufacturing equipment in the world capable of preparing, through a combination of vortex mixer processing, evaporation functions and continuous ultrasonic homogenizer, Multilamellar Vesicles (MLV) and Small Unilamellar Vesicles (SUV), as well as Large Unilamellar Vesicles (LUV) and Giant Unilamellar Vesicles (GUV). The system also prepares liposome vaccines, including those encapsulating soluble and lipid-soluble antigens, and reconstituted liposomes, such as proteoliposome and virosome, plus a range of other types of liposomes. With one-touch operation, the Liposome AutoMaker produces any functional liposome type automatically and repeatedly.
The AutoMaker can prepare stable large amounts of GUV, making it useful for developing artificial cells and next generation types of liposome encapsulating viruses or micelles.
The Liposome AutoMaker requires relatively fewer steps and less time than manual liposome preparation methods. Prior to engaging the automated processing cycle, an operator simply dissolves the phospholipids in chloroform, loads the system with solutions and records the amounts and conditions for preparation of the liposome in question. The operator then presses a button on the touch-screen panel and the Liposome AutoMaker begins preparing the liposome. An entire program, or a part of it, can be repeated with accuracy. The Liposome AutoMaker allows for 1 to 10 continuous runs each with 2 to 20 mL of liposomes.
Features:
Lipsomes encapsulating pharmaceuticals, genes, nucleic acids, antibodies, enzymes, etc. This equipment reduces the time necessary for one cycle of preparation, makes multiple overnight-productions and has excellent reproducibility. Thus unskilled people can operate it and prepare liposomes easily although manual preparation is quite difficult.
